Explore Crete provides comprehensive information about the island including history, nature, recipes and plenty of practical advice.
West Crete, as you might expect, concentrates on the western part of the island but much of the information, such as driving tips, are of a general nature.
The official Greek Tourism site has plenty of information on Greece in general and a page devoted to Crete.
The wonderful weather is one of the island's
main attractions. For example, in the period May to September, there is an average of 11 hours of sunshine per day and fewer than 2 wet days per month.
