Flights

EasyJet and RyanAir both fly to Chania, which is the most convenient airport for Villa Eremia. These airlines also fly to Heraklion but bear in mind that the villa is a two hour drive from this airport. You may also want to try using a flight comparison website such as Skyscanner or Cheapflights.

Tourist Information

Apart from Trip Advisor, there are a number of sites giving useful tourist information.

Explore Crete provides comprehensive information about the island including history, nature, recipes and plenty of practical advice.

West Crete, as you might expect, concentrates on the western part of the island but much of the information, such as driving tips, are of a general nature.

The official Greek Tourism site has plenty of information on Greece in general and a page devoted to Crete.

The wonderful weather is one of the island's main attractions. For example, in the period May to September, there is an average of 11 hours of sunshine per day and fewer than 2 wet days per month.
For a more immediate forecast, visit one of the weather web sites such as Holiday Weather which has a page dedicated to Almyrida and some annual weather statistics.

It's All Greek To Me

The Google Translator does a reasonable job of converting from English to Greek or Greek to English. If you click on the Listen button, you can hear how to pronounce the translated word.

For the written word, if you have the Google Translate app on your phone, select Greek to English, press the Camera button and point the phone camera at some Greek text. After a moment, the English translation appears on the phone screen, superimposed on the Greek.
